• Suleja Fuel Tanker Explosion
On 18 January 2025, tragedy unfolded at Dikko Junction near Suleja, Niger State, when an overturned petrol tanker sparked a catastrophic explosion. As residents rushed to scoop leaking fuel, the tanker ignited- and a second tanker nearby erupted moments later. • Lesnoy Factory Explosion
On 15 August 2025, an explosion inside the Elastik industrial plant in Lesnoy, Ryazan Oblast, killed 28 people and injured more than 150. The facility handled gunpowder and ammunition-loading — conditions that demand high safety compliance. Early investigations pointed to lapses in material handling and internal oversight.
