Fear that retards workplace growth and safety
Every individual has a certain fear which they all try to fight off at each time. Likewise, likewise, every organization has certain fears which have the ability to retard or debar the growth and development of the organization. This article will focus on fear types that every organization must work on to improve the development of the workplace.
1. Fear of power loss
Most managers make certain decisions which end up hurting or seem abusive to their workers due to the fear of power loss.
The courageous know that true power is gained by sharing knowledge, not hoarding it. Only the courageous can access the full power of their organization because only when you let go of your fear of losing power will you be able to launch a way of working with continuous improvement where everyone is empowered to engage.
2. The fear of regret
In order to learn more, one must make one mistake or the other. An individual who definitely wants to walk through the path of growth in their workplace must understand the essence of making a mistake, the need for regrets and also the need to learn from the mistake.
Your decision to change is in fact a sign of learning that should be celebrated and not a reason for regret.
When fear of regret becomes overwhelming, you will defend the perspective that makes your previous choices seem rational.
3. The fear of losing face
Most of the time, people in high rank in an organization make certain disasterous mistakes because they want to keep their faces calm and in tact. But a lot of time, it is very important that your subordinate have an idea of what you are doing, why you are doing it and also understand when you can no longer do it. There is a popular saying “no one is an island of knowledge”. So it is very important that every manager understand that they can also learn from their workers, and that it is also not mandatory that they must keep their faces
intact when it comes to giving ideas, providing solutions etc.
4. Fear of not getting promoted
Employees often battle a lot of things which their employers may not have an idea of. It is very important that employees are themselves in their acts and functions. Most employees often do not add to the growth of the company, they fear being different because they have the fear of not getting promoted if they dare to be different.
5. Fear of losing a friend
While it is important that everyone mind their business in a working environment, it is also important that employees make friends with each other. Most organizations in which there is a set up standard of behavior make it difficult for employees to decide to have friends because they do not want to be the focus. Fear of losing friends comes in and therefore debar individual employees from correcting their fellow employees.
The need to understand the fears that employees battle is very important just as the need to solve them as fast as it is noticed. Organization which helps employees to battle and train them on fighting their fear is likely to grow better in safety and development. A safe mind will also prioritize safety.
