A massive fire has erupted onboard a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel named Trinity Spirit, as three casualties are feared.
Information reaching HSENations has it that a loud explosion was heard around 1 am.
A source told this newspaper that 10 workers onboard the facilities were missing out of which three have been confirmed dead.
It was learnt that the FPSO vessel produces crude oil and is situated around Meren, a North Field Oil Facility belonging to a multinational oil and gas company in the Escravos area of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The explosion and resultant fire allegedly spread panic among workers at nearby oil facilities.
