AfriSAFE has congratulated Zambia Sugar Plc on achieving a market capitalisation of $1 billion, describing the feat as a major corporate milestone for Zambia and the wider African business community.
In a statement issued by its Chief Executive Officer, Femi Da Silva, AfriSAFE praised the Board, management, and workforce of Zambia Sugar for what it described as an outstanding achievement anchored on strong leadership and disciplined execution.
“On behalf of AfriSAFE, we extend our warmest congratulations to the Board, Management, and the entire Zambia Sugar team on achieving an outstanding milestone of $1 billion market capitalisation,” the statement read.
AfriSAFE attributed the success to the leadership of the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Oswald Magwenzi, noting that the achievement reflects a clear strategic vision and long term commitment to excellence.
“This remarkable accomplishment, achieved under the visionary leadership of Chief Executive Officer Mr Oswald Magwenzi, is a powerful testament to strategic leadership, disciplined execution, and a sustained commitment to excellence,” the organisation stated.

“At AfriSAFE, we are particularly encouraged by how this success reflects strong investment in safety, employee wellbeing, and a people first culture,” the statement added.
According to AfriSAFE, the achievement goes beyond corporate success and represents a broader win for the country and the continent.
“This milestone is not only a win for Zambia Sugar, but also a proud moment for Zambia and the wider African corporate landscape,” Da Silva said.
“We proudly acknowledge and appreciate Zambia Sugar as Headline Sponsors of AfriSAFE, Africa’s premier and biggest Safety and Sustainable Awards Ceremony, for the last three consecutive years,” the statement noted.
