The President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Mr Wale Adediran announced a partnership between his organisation and Institution of Occupational Safety and Health in a bid to add value to its members on best safety practice for employees.
The agreement for the partnership is contained in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties, according to an announcement made by the Human Resource Professional body on Tuesday in a statement.
The statement entitled ‘CIPM partners with IOSH on saving lives’ said the new partners made commitments to further the important goals of helping ensure people live healthy and safe lives.
The President stated in his opening remark at the virtual signing Ceremony that CIPM is in pursuit of ways to constantly add value to its members and the society at large.
He expressed his assurance that the new partnership will foster the institute’s commitment to a strong focus on employees’ wellbeing in Nigeria, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her own words, the Registrar/CEO, CIPM, Ms Busola Alofe, said the partnership between the CIPM and IOSH would bring collaborative efforts that will help integrate occupational safety and health into human resource skills, ultimately helping to develop more rounded HR professionals.
Mrs Bev Messinger, The Chief Executive Officer, IOSH, expressed her delight on the partnership. She said human resource practitioners could influence workplace protection.
Reacting too, Alan Stevens, the Head of Strategic Engagement, IOSH, said that the pandemic made it highly critical to encourage and drive employee health, safety, and wellness.
He asserted that the best way to make such an impact is through partnerships such as with the CIPM.
