Mini Truck Kills An Infant And Three Others Due To Brake Failure

A mini truck with registration number ABH-534XA shoved into a commercial bus, killing four persons, including an infant instantly.

The accident occurred in the early morning of Friday on Asaba-Ibusa -Warri road, Delta.

According to Mr Uchechukwu Wihioka, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the area, the mini-truck driver lost control of his vehicle after his brake failed, causing it to ram into a bus with registration number AJL-551YQ.

Uchechukwu told newsmen that 16 persons were involved in the accident, adding that the 12 people who survived the accident with varying degree of injuries had been taken to hospital for proper care even before the arrival of FRSC rescue team.

He begged drivers to ensure regular maintenance of their vehicles, he added that they “need to ensure that their vehicles meet the minimum safety standards before putting it on the road to avoid crashes on our roads”.
