There are various simple ways to communicate safety to layman towards better living. Safety training is very important just as safety communication is, but in situation where we have to run into people of various field, knowledge and understanding which is not on the same level as those in Safety industries then there has to be a simpler way to communicating safety and safety measures to them for in Dept understanding.
This topic will focus on simple way we can communicate safety to layman around and within our reach as safety personnel .
1. The use of posters and sign image.
The use of engaging image or posters within and around the company will give an idea of why safety is very important to every person who come in contact with employees and the plant arena.
The availability of posters or image that explains safety issues and measures in the company gives both employees and incoming individual who have no idea or just little idea on safety a detailed information on why safety is very important.
2. Sharing case study .
People’s attention is much likely to be given when using case study to share information on safety. E.g , an individual who is coming to the plant for the first time and do not have any idea about safety is more likely to be interested in knowing more about safety when a case study of how something relating to safety had happened in the past, how it was solves and how it helped the company become better in functions .
3. Using of Email and Newsletter.
Individual who are not in the field of safety are likely to be interested in safety if safety organization finds a way to send them mails or newsletter on why safety is important, how to stay safe, the simple process to keeping their Environment and themselves safe . We are in a digitalized world where almost everyone check their mail daily, people go as far as subscribing to newsletter also. The use of emails and newsletter is also very useful .
4. The use of flyers or small hand bill
Safety industries will find it more simple to train individual about safety and it measures if the use of flyers or hand bill is been put into practice. Individual who have direct access to this material can easily go through them at their leisure hour to gain more knowledge. Also these materials should be nicely designed in such a way that it can easily attract the attention of any layman to read them .
5. Training the community.
As safety personnel, it is part of our duty to encourage the people around our workplace, home or leisure area on the important of safety.
Safety training should not just stop at our working environment but it should be emphasized on around everyone we come in contact with. Just like people preach the gospel, safety should be the gospel every safety personnel should preach to everyone in thier world of contact.
Safety is not only meant to be practiced by safety Professional, Personnels, supervisor, manager etc, safety is what everyone should practice and the best way to ensure this is safety personnel teaching the world around them about it on a regular basis .
