What to do when employees are not committed to personal safety? There are things which must be done once negative attitude towards personal safety is noticed. Personal safety is a responsibility of each individual staff.
Personal safety is very important just like every other area of safety. Generalized safety has its own tips and regulations which make the organization work effectively at all times. While we have discussed general safety in some of our past articles, we will be discussing what to do when employees are not committed to personal safety in the organization.
Staying committed to personal safety is not only important to the health and work functionality of the workers but also effective for the growth of the organization as a whole.

Below are things to do once workers are not noticed to be out of commitment to personal safety.
1. Organise personal safety training.
When it comes to any form of safety, it is more advisable to allow staff go through training so they can have an in-depth knowledge of what is required of them and what is not. Sometimes it is more advisable to bring a professional in that area of safety to train your staff since they are likely to accord him or her more respect

2. Levie penalties on inconsistent staff
Personal safety is all about consistency, a staff who is concerned about his or her personal safety will stay consistent in doing it right. There should be levies or punishment for employees who often go out of the bounds of their personal safety, as they do not only put themselves out for danger, but also they may endanger other staff and even the organization.
3. Affirm and follow up.
Organization should ensure consistent follow-up on personal safety of staff. Just like there should be levies or penalties placed by the organization, the organization must also ensure consistency with following up on how serious the staff are taking their personal safety, affirming the standard to the level of how every worker should be safe and then following up to ensure they are safe.

4. Give reasons and encourage.
A lot of organizations just assumed that after training, employees were meant to obey and follow up whatever they were being taught. The truth remains that about thirty percent of employees may not even remember what was taught during the personal safety class while some few percentages may remember but see no reason to actually put it into practice. This is where the organization comes by giving their workers reasons why they need to stay safe at all time, also encourage them by citing an example of how you have stayed consistent and it has helped both you and the organization to grow better.
