The just-concluded Lagos International Fire Conference 2.0 has received widespread acclaim from participants, who praised the event’s insightful discussions, cutting-edge solutions, and global best practices in fire safety and prevention.
The conference, which aimed to raise awareness and provide practical skills to mitigate fire risks, was attended by over 1000 participants, including fire safety professionals, government officials, business leaders, and community members.


The three-day event featured an enlightenment workshop, conference, and expo, designed to impart fire safety knowledge, awareness, and skills to stakeholders.

Participants appreciated the opportunity to learn from experts and network with peers, citing the conference as a game-changer in the field of fire safety.
The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, organized the conference to promote synergy among stakeholders and reduce fire risks in the state.
With its success, the conference has set a high standard for future events focused on fire safety and prevention.
According to survey reports conducted by HSENations, the greatest percentage of participants rated the conference “good” and “excellent”.

According to comments in the survey, the program included power packed knowledge and topics from panelists, excellent coordination, and the national impact of the program.
“First of it’s kind in Nigeria and I will like to say, I have been equipped to mitigate the surge of fire in this conference with a more technical approach. God bless Lagos State and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services for the in-depth program,” a participant from the survey said.
“The conference is a welcome development in ensuring collaboration, sustainability, decision making, empowerment, mutual respect, cultural sensitivity, trust,” another participant said.
According to another participant, the program “was well planned and executed with anticipated positive impact on the general well-being of the nation. It provided professional resource which engaged added value and colour to the program.”

More comments from the survey were, “The event was educating and informative. I look forward to attending LIFSC 3.0 next year.”

In an interview with a representative from Lagos State Ferry Services Corporation,, Mr. Sunmola Abdulsalam, he hailed the impact of the program stating that safety must be put as utmost priority in everything.

Chief Fire Officer and Head of Fire Prevention, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Balogun Hakeem, said that he was impressed by the quality of the program adding that he was thrown aback by the outstanding presentations.
“This year’s program is very interesting compared to the last one. You can see the crowd it pulled. The governor, his wife and deputy were here. The first day was fantastic and the second day was even better and the third day was more than fantastic.”

“The speakers at the conference contributed greatly. Me, as a fire service officer- I was encouraged by knowledge from experts. I was also happy to learn from the Former Comptroller General (Engr. Olusegun Okebiorun) of Federal Fire Service who came for the program who spoke extensively on safety,” he said to our senior reporter.
He said, “Like we say, it is safety first. In everything we do, we need to make sure that the environment is safe.”
“Like the Governor (Babajide Sanwo-Olu) has put in place; and the GM (Margaret Adeseye) of the Fire Service- new stations are being built. Although, we need more, we as individuals need to be vigilant about what we do in our environment,” he said.
