IOSH Backs 7th AfriSAFE, Marking Years of Unbroken Support

The countdown to Africa’s biggest safety event is on—and joining the frontline is the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest health and safety membership body, as a sponsor of the 2025 Africa Safety Congress and Awards (AfriSAFE), holding this November in Mombasa, Kenya.

With over 50,000 members across more than 130 countries, IOSH stands as a global authority in occupational safety and health (OSH), setting standards, shaping policy, and empowering professionals to make workplaces safer, healthier, and more sustainable.
Founded in 1945, IOSH has earned its place as the voice of the OSH profession, championing campaigns that drive systemic change—from safer conditions for gig workers to risk reduction in rural Africa. Its reach extends from corporate boardrooms to local communities, improving lives through education, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.

As a chartered body and registered charity, IOSH invests in research, guides workplace reform, and builds professional competence through its renowned membership tiers, competency frameworks, and continuous development programmes.

A Longstanding Ally of AfriSAFE

IOSH’s involvement with AfriSAFE isn’t new—it’s a continuation of a committed partnership that began in 2019. This year, as silver sponsor, IOSH is deepening its engagement with African stakeholders by supporting AfriSAFE’s mission to recognise safety excellence and promote a stronger culture of prevention across sectors.

From factory floors to frontline workers, IOSH’s belief is clear: safety is not optional—it’s essential. Its recent campaigns have highlighted issues hidden in the ‘small print’ of employment contracts and called for urgent reform in emerging work environments.
