LSSC Clamps Down On COVID-19 Protocol Violation, Shuts Down Club

Lagos State Safety Commission has sealed off Cubana nightclub and some of its other facilities in Ikeja, according to Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on New Media, Gawat Jubril.

He revealed this via his official Twitter handle.

The clampdown operation carried out yesterday, according to Jubril, was because of Cubana’s “noncompliance” to COVID-19 protocols.

Recall that in a broadcast message, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had earlier decried the rate of non-compliance to COVID-19 prevention protocols in Nightclubs, Place of Worship etc.

According to him, the statistics emerging from COVID-19 testing in the state suggests “the existence of active community transmission” that could lead to the second wave of Coronavirus in Lagos state.

He banned School activities, carnivals, street parties and concerts, while also upholding the curfew imposed by the Federal Government.
