Nigeria: 24,968 Persons Were Involved In 8,638 Accidents Between Q1-Q3 2020. Data retrieved from online sources by our correspondent have indicated that about 24,968 persons were involved in 8,638 accidents that occurred between January and September 2020.
The figure consists of 3,689 persons that died in various road carnages that happened across Nigeria and the 21, 279 people that survived with varying degree of injuries.

Between January and March, 6, 448 vehicles were involved in 2, 080 accidents leading to the deaths of 1758 persons and a record of 11, 250 persons injured.
Similarly, according to the National Bureau of Statistics’ Road Transport Data for April, May and June, 2,080 accidents involving 3,334 vehicles was reported. In the accident, 855 deaths and 5,535 injury cases were documented.
For the third quarter of 2020, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) claimed that 1,076 persons died in 2,656 accidents involving 6,539 vehicles. 4,494 survived with injuries, according to the agency.
Recall that, according to FRSC and NBS who rolled out the figures, the leading cause of road accidents in Nigeria remains speed violation.
