Residents protest as four miners are killed in Jos

Residents of Dong Community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday protested the killing of four mine workers in the community.

The mineworkers were killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening, the state police command confirmed.

“Four men who went to a mining site at Mai Farin Mota were shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen.

“The scene was visited by the police and has been beefed up with security,” the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP Ubah Ogaba, had said.

The residents, who chanted different songs, brandished tree branches and blocked demanding justice and an end to killings.
