Ways good sanitation practices influence human Safety
The Western countries have taken the role of good and healthy sanitation as a practice of safety, which is priority. Although sometimes the issues of clean, sanitary water are taken for granted – we simply turn on a tap and have access to almost unlimited clean drinking water. The same with the toilet and bathroom facilities. There are not too many people that live in the Western world who need to think about how dirty their tap water would be before drinking or bathing with it. They have become a whole community when it comes to toilet and water sanitation. Unlike the most African countries where the issues of clean and sanitary water are issues of concern daily.

Today we will be discussing how good sanitation affects human safety.
1. Reduction in water-borne pathogens
Availability of sanitary water is not just a blessing of relieve to quench one’s thirst at any point in time, also the need for reduction in pathogenic diseases which are very dangerous to the human body system are also taken care of, prevention they say is better than cure.
2. Promotion of a healthier, happier community
A healthy person is a happy person. A group of people who have access to sanitary water are likely to be more productive and more creative in their own ways. Most of the time their little act of having access to clean water helps the community as a whole to have access to free mindfulness, which also improves their level of happiness and then in return gives access to a better health system.
3. Excellent Ground Water Protection
Good sanitation on its own has various advantages, which includes easy accessibility to constant clean water, but most often people do not think about the storage of water and how it is done. A good sanitation practices help to keep every crony of our environment clean and tidy, and this means water storage can have a clean environment for storage, thereby leading to continuous access to clean and sanitary water for drinking, washing, bathing etc.

4. Reduction in illness
Apart from pathogenic bacteria that can cause various water borne diseases. There are other diseases which are not often water borne but can be caused by active bacteria, viruses and fungi present in water. Diseases like cholera and diarrhea can be caused by active virus and bacteria present in unclean water. Constant consumption of clean water will prevent this and improve the health system of people.

5. More eco-friendly environment
Good sanitation practices improve the environment for both lower and higher animals. A good and tidy environment is a source of inhaling good air and excellent sight, while a poor environment on its own has an effect on the human physiology and, of course, the available animals in such an environment.
As safety professionals, educating the communities about proper sanitation procedures and implementing simple, safe water sanitation solutions like composting toilets, water tanks and solar power will bring about the achievement of all the mentioned points above.
